The holiday season is here once again, and so is our Paper Kettle Campaign! Now through December 25th, you can donate to your local Salvation Army organization anytime you stop in at one of The Store’s 26 convenient locations. There are two ways you can give:
- Purchase a paper kettle for $1, $5 or $10 and sign your name – all paper kettles will be proudly displayed inside The Store!
- Place change or dollar bills in the small red kettles located on the check-out counter. Every coin counts!
Our Paper Kettle Campaign began in 2013. To date, Associates and Guests of The Store have donated over $121,000 to local Salvation Army chapters! Now, in the campaign’s 8th year, the need is greater than ever. There’s no doubt the past months have been difficult for all. The year has presented many new challenges, especially for our neighbors in need. Watch our interview video with the Salvation Army – Stevens Point to learn more!
What initiatives will your donation support? The Salvation Army works to meet needs in many ways, including:
- Providing shelter
- Supplying meals and food
- Supporting veterans
- Offering financial assistance
- Supplementing education
- Connecting those out of work with job opportunities
…and much more!
100% of funds raised directly contribute to the Salvation Army’s efforts in your community. We hope you’ll support our Paper Kettle Campaign and help us relieve needs at the local level. And remember, you can donate your time, too! Sign up to be a bell ringer in your community at RegisterToRing.com.
This holiday season, we hope you’ll join us in Doing The Most Good, Together.

We LOVE animals and we LOVE the communities we call home. This month, we’re excited to support both through our Perks For Pets and Buy A Bone promotions! October 1st – 24th, you can raise much-needed funding for the animal shelter or humane society in your area when you visit The Store...and there’s two great ways to help. No bones about it!
Perks For Pets
Hey all you cool cats and kittens, need of some CATfination? When you enjoy a 24 oz. hot beverage at The Store, not only will you get to use the new (and adorable) Furry Friends cup, but you can also treat yourself to a David’s Muffin for only 59¢! Now, that’s a deal that will have you feline fine no matter how ruff the day.
The best part? A portion of each hot beverage and muffin purchase will go to the animal shelter or humane society in your area! You can help local pets find their furever home by simply enjoying coffee and a muffin. Supporting animals in need has never been easier…or more delicious!
Buy A Bone
In addition to Perks For Pets, you can also support your local shelter through our annual (and very pup-ular) Buy A Bone promotion. At the register, you’ll have the option to buy paper bones for $1, $5, and $10. Buy one (or more!) and sign your bone to show your support. Psst – You can even get creative and write the name of a pet! The purchased bones will be displayed inside The Store to celebrate the generosity and kindness of our Guests. ALL funds raised from paper bone sales go directly to the shelter in your area, and we’re not kitten! What could be more purrfect?
Benefiting Animal Shelters
The following shelters will receive the funds raised in their respective markets through the Perks For Pets and Buy A Bone promotions:
- Humane Society of Marathon County
- Marshfield Area Pet Shelter
- Humane Society of Portage County
- Oconto Area Humane Society
- Shawano County Humane Society
- South Wood County Humane Society
- Humane Society of Waupaca
- Delta Animal Shelter
- Menominee Animal Shelter
The impact of COVID-19 has limited the ways shelters receive support, including decreased volunteer work and a limited ability to host fundraising events. But, we need to stay pawsitive. Now more than ever, we hope you’ll join us in assisting the wonderful shelters in our communities. Your support will go a long way toward maintaining the well-being of sheltered animals while they await a loving home. Thank you fur your help, our Guests sure are pawsome!
P.S. — We Want to Feature Your Pet!
Have adorable photos of your pet? We’d love to see them, doggonit! 😁 Connect with The Store on social media and share your best pet photos with us. Include your pet’s name and a fun fact about them. We’re basically the puparazzi! A few lucky photos will be featured on The Store’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages during the Perks For Pets and Buy A Bone promotions.
It’s that time of year…our annual Take Time, Be Kind Campaign is underway at The Store!
Sure, we’ve got great coffee and muffin deals going on right now, but that’s not really what this campaign is all about. We’re talking about something much more meaningful than a creamy cappuccino or a fresh blueberry muffin: kindness!
We all know how busy life can be. Most of the time, it feels like we’re rushing from one thing to the next, barely finding enough time to breathe. Some days, taking time to be kind is just not a priority.
Well, we’re here to help change that!
Read on for 8 quick and easy ways to Take Time & Be Kind this month:
- Connect with a Friend
Think of someone you haven’t had a chance to catch up with in a while. Maybe that person is a childhood friend who moved to a new city, a previous co–worker you used to see every day, or even sweet old Granny or Grandpa.
Have someone in mind? Great!
Take a few minutes to pick up the phone, give them a call and let them know you care!
- Pay Someone a Compliment
Remember how great you felt when you were complimented on your new shoes? (And if you weren’t, hey! Nice shoes!) Well, you can pass that amazing feeling along with just a few simple words.
Make a point to pay someone a compliment or two everyday this month. Whether you say a few kind words to a friend, family member, colleague, or even a stranger, your praise might just make their whole day!
- Open a Door
This one is super easy. Walking into the office? Out of the grocery store? Wherever you are, be sure to take an extra second to hold the door for the person behind you. Simple, considerate gestures can really go a long way!
- Say Hello
It feels great to be acknowledged by others. So, be sure to acknowledge those around you! Lend a friendly greeting to all you come across…not only are you spreading kindness, we’re pretty sure it will also make your day better!
- Help Someone
Next time you see someone struggling with their grocery bags or awkwardly shuffling on an icy patch of ground, offer a helping hand. That person (and their unsquished tomatoes) will thank you!
- Give a Hug
Is one of your friends going through a rough patch or having an “off” day? There’s nothing quite like a hug from a loved one to help someone feel cared for. Go ahead, hold ‘em close. After all, what are friends for?
- Say Thank You
Okay, this one is also super easy. Make sure to thank your mailman, hairdresser, co-workers, waitress…everyone! There’s no better way to show someone you appreciate them and what they do. Maybe even leave a note and an Aromas coffee on someone’s desk or front door. Make it a habit to say thank you to everyone with a smile on your face!
That reminds us, we almost forgot to mention the best one: smile! Smiles can light up a room, brighten someone’s day, and send positive vibes to everyone around. P.S. – They’re also contagious. Give a smile, we bet you’ll get one back!
The truth is, none of us are ever “too busy” for these simple ways to be kind to others. Give out positivity and happiness, and that’s what you’ll get back.
Take Time, Be Kind…It only takes a moment!
Here in the Midwest, we have some cold winters…but we don’t need to tell you that! By the time February rolls around, most of us — no matter how much we love ice fishing or skiing — are wishing for longer days and dreaming of summertime.
So, how can you make the most of the chilly weeks ahead? Join us at The Store as we warm up with our annual Take Time, Be Kind campaign!
By taking part in this campaign, you’ll warm up literally and figuratively. How, you ask? With muffins, coffee, cappuccinos and kindness!
This month, we challenge you to take a few extra moments to spread kindness to others. Make a point to hold the door, smile at everyone you meet, and give out compliments left and right. It will make you (and everyone you come across) feel great!
Need some additional inspiration? Consider spreading kindness by paying it forward. Grab a couple muffins for your family, friends, teacher, or lighten up a stranger’s day with a sweet surprise. Maybe leave a cappuccino on your co-workers’ desk, bring a muffin to your hairdresser, or give someone a smiling “Take Time, Be Kind” sticker. Little gestures here and there can sure go a long way. Extra perk: we have Jamaican Me Crazy Coffee and Cappuccino flavors at The Store all month long to help melt away the winter blues!
Remember to treat everyone you come across with courtesy, respect, and a smile. Kindness is free…so give it to everyone! You never know who you’ll positively impact in our communities.
So, go ahead: lend a hand, hold a door, share a smile; we promise you’ll feel warmer on the inside (and not just because of the coffee)!
