The Store is a division of Team Schierl Companies (TSC). In the 1980s, all three of Butch Schierl’s sons joined the company after graduating college. Staying true to Schierl family roots, the leadership of TSC was passed on to Butch Schierl’s three sons Tim, Bill, and Fritz, known fondly as The Brothers. They now continue to lead the growth and success of Team Schierl Companies today.

The Store was created in 1976 by Central Wisconsin local and entrepreneur Butch Schierl. At the time, convenience stores were uncommon. In fact, The Store was the first convenience store gas station in the Central Wisconsin region. While the convenience store market has expanded and become impersonal and corporate, The Store holds onto its trailblazing, local roots.

We’re committed to providing a friendly, neighborly experience at every one of our convenient locations. We’re proud to sell exclusively North American fuel products. The Store has grown to include 25 convenient locations throughout Central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. At The Store, convenience and fast, friendly service are not only an expectation, but a guarantee!

Charitable Giving is in Our DNA

At The Store, we are dedicated to giving back to the communities where we do business. In fact, generosity and volunteerism are traits The Brothers grew up observing first hand. Their mother, Dr. Anne Schierl, was passionate about giving back to her community. Anne created and supported a large number of organizations through her selfless volunteerism, including the Boys and Girls Club of Portage County, focusing on the betterment of our community’s youth, arts and culture, and drug and alcohol prevention. She was also an accomplished actress in Area Community Theater shows, always going onstage with the goal of making others laugh.

Since 1990, over $4.4 million has been raised by our Associates and members of our communities to support worthy local causes, such as neighborhood Salvation Army branches and animal shelters.

Opened central Wisconsin’s first convenience style gas station.

Grew by purchasing 8 Citgo stations and rebranding them.

Tim Schierl joins the company.

Opened our first two convenience stores in Upper Michigan and acquire Mobil brand

Participated in our first Annual MDA Golf Outing.

Built the Park Ridge convenience store, our first “Blue Roof” store.

Opened the Arbor Vitae convenience store, our northernmost location in Wisconsin.
