Paper Kettle Campaign Salvation Army The Store Fundraiser

The holiday season is here once again, and so is our Paper Kettle Campaign! Now through December 25th, you can donate to your local Salvation Army organization anytime you stop in at one of The Store’s 26 convenient locations. There are two ways you can give:

  1. Purchase a paper kettle for $1, $5 or $10 and sign your name – all paper kettles will be proudly displayed inside The Store!
  2. Place change or dollar bills in the small red kettles located on the check-out counter. Every coin counts!

Our Paper Kettle Campaign began in 2013. To date, Associates and Guests of The Store have donated over $121,000 to local Salvation Army chapters! Now, in the campaign’s 8th year, the need is greater than ever. There’s no doubt the past months have been difficult for all. The year has presented many new challenges, especially for our neighbors in need. Watch our interview video with the Salvation Army – Stevens Point to learn more!

What initiatives will your donation support? The Salvation Army works to meet needs in many ways, including:

  • Providing shelter
  • Supplying meals and food
  • Supporting veterans
  • Offering financial assistance
  • Supplementing education
  • Connecting those out of work with job opportunities

…and much more!

100% of funds raised directly contribute to the Salvation Army’s efforts in your community. We hope you’ll support our Paper Kettle Campaign and help us relieve needs at the local level. And remember, you can donate your time, too! Sign up to be a bell ringer in your community at RegisterToRing.com.

This holiday season, we hope you’ll join us in Doing The Most Good, Together.

Help Support Local Pets Here's How

We LOVE animals and we LOVE the communities we call home. This month, we’re excited to support both through our Perks For Pets and Buy A Bone promotions! October 1st – 24th, you can raise much-needed funding for the animal shelter or humane society in your area when you visit The Store...and there’s two great ways to help. No bones about it!

Benefiting Animal Shelters

The following shelters will receive the funds raised in their respective markets through the Perks For Pets and Buy A Bone promotions:

The impact of COVID-19 has limited the ways shelters receive support, including decreased volunteer work and a limited ability to host fundraising events. But, we need to stay pawsitiveNow more than ever, we hope you’ll join us in assisting the wonderful shelters in our communities. Your support will go a long way toward maintaining the well-being of sheltered animals while they await a loving home. Thank you fur your help, our Guests sure are pawsome!

The Store positive activities Local Gas Station

Now that the Safer at Home Order has been extended, there’s no better time to shake up your routine with a few fun, family-friendly activitiesThe weather is finally starting to look like spring, too. Let’s get outside and enjoy it!

We are all feeling a little stir-crazy right now, and if you have kids, they’re probably bouncing off the walls. Since we’ll be practicing social distancing for some time, it is important that we all do our part to protect the health of our communities. Plus, there are ways to make the most of any situationincluding this one!

Now is a great time to show compassion to others. We’re all in the same boat, and everyone could use an extra smile. Read on for three great ways to spread positivity and brighten someone’s day!

1. Sidewalk Chalk Artwork

You may have already seen bright, happy pictures drawn on the sidewalk in your neighborhood. Why not join in on the fun? Gather the family on a sunny day and create one-of-a-kind, colorful masterpieces for the whole block to enjoy. If you need inspirationpicture hope, love, and happiness, then draw what you see. You could even add an uplifting quote or two in the process! Whatever you create, your drawing is sure to bring some smiles into the world.

2. Window Hearts

Hearts are no longer just for Valentine’s Day! Placing paper hearts in the windows of your home is another great way to share positivity with all who pass by, and it’s easy to get the whole family involved.  A parent or guardian can cut out the hearts and children can decorate them. This activity can be done rain or shine…all you need is paper, scissors, and tape. Even though we can’t be near others right now, that shouldn’t stop us from sharing messages of hope and positivity with everyone in our communities!

3. Decorate Stones

Now that your sidewalk is covered in chalk and your windows are bursting with hearts, it’s time to find some stones. Take a walk around the neighborhood and collect a few stray rocksThen, find any markers, paint, or stickers you have lying around the house.

Your whole family can decorate the stones with pretty pictures, hearts, or words like “hope”. Once the stones have been decorated, take them outside and distribute them around the neighborhood. Place the stones where people will easily see them, such as next to the sidewalk or at the base of a tree. The goal is for others to find them and smile!

There are so many ways to support our communities during this uncertain time. We’d love to see how you’re staying positive and help to spread your message on social media. Please share photos of your chalk drawings, hearts and stones with us on Facebook or email us at thestore@teamschierl.com.

Stay safe and healthy!

P.S. – Know of an individual or organization going above and beyond to support our communities? We want to celebrate and share their efforts! Tell us about them by filling out our form here: https://gasfoodandmore.com/service/

The Store Convenience Store Community Support

Our communities are in need of extra support right now. Local businesses, restaurants, and non-profits – along with families who are caring for elders or children – are feeling an impact from the COVID-19 restrictions. We know there are good people out there helping those in need. We want to amplify their efforts and support them when we can. So, we want to know…how are you and the businesses/organizations in your life serving your community?

Organizations, restaurants and individuals have already begun to adapt to our new shared lifestyle of social distancing and location shut-downs. By organizing senior-only shopping hours, offering free food to children who cannot receive school lunch, and creating new delivery methods to help distribute needed items, our communities have truly banded together in this time of need and uncertainty. On behalf of The Store’s Associates, we would like to hear more about the good that people and organizations are doing locally so we can help support those who are so selflessly caring for the community.

Do you know of an organization, business or individual going above and beyond to make our communities stronger? Please share their (and your!) stories with us!

We want to recognize and celebrate the outstanding people in our communities and pitch in to help however possible. We, like so many others, are working to maintain a safe, healthy and happy place for you and your loved ones. We’re all in this together!

Social Media Highlights:

Check out our post about Zoey, a 13-year-old from Central Wisconsin with a heart of gold. Zoey has spent many, many hours creating homemade face masks. She then donates the masks to healthcare workers, like those at Marshfield Clinic. By filling out our form, Zoey was featured on our social media channels where we were able to spread the word about her good deeds and need for supplies. Local community members donated, allowing Zoey to continue her production of homemade face masks. Way to go, Zoey!

Thank you for letting us continue to be a part of your community. As always, we’re here to serve.
